Promotional Products Fulfillment & Distribution Ltd. (PPFD) has always been dedicated to providing top-quality marketing support services, including fulfillment, distribution, and call center management. But what truly sets PPFD apart is its unwavering commitment to being a green business. From its state-of-the-art facilities to its innovative energy initiatives, PPFD is leading the way in sustainabilityand environmental responsibility.
PPFD’s recent expansion included the construction of a new 60,000 square-foot distribution warehouse in Whitby, Ontario. The project’s general contractor, Johnson Building Construction Inc., recommended tilt-up construction for the facility, a method that offers significant energy savings over the life of the building. Tilt Wall Ontario used the Delta Tie Insulated Sandwich Panel Thermal System, supplied by Dayton Superior, to provide 39,665 square feet of continuous insulation with minimal thermal bridging. This efficient system requires up to 75% fewer ties than other systems, leading to reduced installation time and cost savings of up to 30%.
In line with its green initiatives, PPFD boasts the largest solar rooftop installation in Durham Region. The company partnered with Global Point Energy to install a 500kW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system that collects the sun’s energy and converts it into electrical power. This solar system generates enough power annually to run approximately 75 homes and offset about 600 tons of CO2 emissions each year. By harnessing renewable energy, PPFD is actively reducing its environmental footprint and promoting cleaner energy consumption.
As a fulfillment and distribution company, PPFD understands the importance of responsible waste management. To reduce waste and contribute to a circular economy, PPFD has implemented a cardboard recycling program using a cardboard baler. This initiative ensures that all cardboard waste generated by the company is collected, baled, and sent to recycling facilities, reducing the environmental impact and promoting resource conservation.
