Our History
PPFD was founded in 1986 as a small, family-owned business dedicated to kitting and assembly services in the Greater Toronto Area. From our humble beginnings, we quickly established a reputation for reliability and quality, serving a growing list of clients with tailored solutions that met their specific needs. Within two years, we expanded our operations to include warehousing services, catering initially to the video industry with clients like Video One and Belview Entertainment. Our early success in managing and distributing promotional materials for the movie industry set the foundation for our future growth.
Secured our first significant client, one of the five major Canadian banks, a partnership that continues to thrive today.
Launched our first-generation Warehouse Management System (WMS), significantly enhancing our inventory management and order fulfillment capabilities.
Rolled out the fourth generation of our WMS, integrating advanced features like real-time inventory tracking, client-facing dashboards, customizable reporting, client budget management, virtual warehouse inventory separation for large businesses, viewable inventory cataloging, branded client shop carts, and more.
Launched our Shopify integration app, streamlining e-commerce operations for our clients by automating order processing directly from Shopify into our WMS.
In 2023, we marked a significant milestone with the acquisition of Marco Distribution, further expanding our service offerings and market reach. This strategic move has allowed PPFD to enhance our presence in Ontario with an additional 180,000 square feet of warehousing space in Brantford. The acquisition included a co-packing operation equipped with 5 large heat shrink and bundling machines, giving us the ability and manpower for co-packing and reconditioning of home cleaning and consumable products. Additionally, the purchase brought 120 additional staff members into the PPFD family, further strengthening our team and capabilities.

Our 60,000 square-foot facility at 180 William Smith Drive underscores our commitment to energy efficiency and advanced warehousing solutions. Constructed using tilt-up construction with the Delta Tie Insulated Sandwich Panel Thermal System, this facility offers significant energy savings. The efficient system minimizes thermal bridging and requires up to 75% fewer ties, reducing installation time and costs by up to 30%. The facility boasts 7,632 oversized and narrow aisle 12-foot racking locations , accessible with wire-guided turret trucks, making it highly efficient for managing large and bulky items.
Our 80,000 square-foot facility at 576 Oak Park Road, Unit 3, built in 2023, further enhances our warehousing and distribution capabilities. This location features standard racking with 7,462 standard locations, ensuring ample storage capacity and efficient management of inventory.
