Founding and Early Years
PPFD was founded in 1986 as a small, family-owned business serving kitting and assembly services in the Greater Toronto Area. From our humble beginnings, we quickly built a reputation for ourselves because of our reliability and quality. Within two years, we had already added a warehousing component to our operations, serving the video industry with Video One and Belview Entertainment as some of our first warehousing clients. These early successes of overseeing and distributing promotional products for the movie industry laid the groundwork for our future.
Signed our first key account, one of the five major Canadian banks, a client relationship that still exists today.
Introduced our first-generation WMS, which dramatically improved our inventory management and order fulfillment capabilities.
Released the fourth generation of our WMS, adding real-time inventory tracking, client-facing dashboards, custom reporting, client budget management, virtual warehouse inventory separation for large businesses, viewable inventory cataloging, branded client shop carts, and a host of other advancements.
Launched our Shopify integration app, fully automating order processing directly from Shopify into our WMS for our clients to ease their e-commerce.

Recent Developments In 2023, we hit another major milestone—acquiring Marco Distribution, further growing our service offerings and market reach. This strategic move has allowed PPFD to increase our Ontario presence with an additional 180,000 square feet of Brantford warehousing space. This acquisition added a co-packing operation outfitted with five huge heat shrink and bundling machines, allowing us to become able and staffed to perform co-packing and reconditioning for home cleaning and consumable products. Also included in the purchase were 120 more members of the extended PPFD family who have bolstered our team and capabilities.

Gilbert Kee is the chief executive officer of PPFD and has worked vigorously to keep the family name and legacy intact all the while setting up the company properly for continued growth for generations into the future. With almost 40 years of experience in logistics management, his commitment to excellence and business tradition is evident in every milestone the company has accomplished. Gilbert has industry knowledge which helps give clients opportunities to be successful, this lets you grow together with PPFD in the pursuit of efficient business operations and development.
Aaron Kee is responsible for managing daily operations at PPFD. He boasts more than two decades’ worth of logistics and distribution experience.
He is driven by the desire to optimize processes, and creating efficiencies, which leads to the success of our clients.
Sean Kee has an eye on strategic partnerships and growth opportunities. Having been in the industry for just over twenty years, Sean has created fruitful long-lasting relationships benefiting both PPFD and the clients we serve.

Jordan Perna is the supervisor of the facilities at PPFD, which he manages with an extremely efficient and precise level of detail.

Whitby, Ontario
Our primary facility is 150,000 square feet located at 80 William Smith Drive, demonstrating our focus on being green and doing business through sustainable solutions.
In 2012, we added a 500 kW roof-mounted solar system to its green approach to business, the largest of its kind in the Durham Region. The solar system produces enough energy yearly to operate around 75 homes and offset around 600 tons of detrimental CO2 emissions – we could not imagine a better solution to lower our carbon foot print.
Our facility has racking that can accommodate 9,756 bin locations—a huge storage capacity for all kinds of products. This location has 15,000 square feet of office space and is the center for our first-class marketing support services: fulfillment, distribution, and call center management.
Whitby, Ontario
This 60,000-square-foot facility located at 180 William Smith Drive is another prime example of our commitment to energy efficiency and industry advancement in warehousing solutions. Our facility offers savings in several major ways, such as tilt-up construction with the Delta Tie Insulated Sandwich Panel Thermal System.
Such features have rendered this system effective in taking away thermal bridging while consuming as much as 75% less ties, this process saves about 30% on the installation time and costs. Our facility has 7,632 oversized as well as narrow path 12-foot racking locations, which can be reached by using wire-guided turret trucks, making it extremely effective in handling vast and bulky items.
Brantford, Ontario
we have an 80,000-square-foot facility located at Unit 3, 576 Oak Park Road, constructed in 2023. This facility helps in maintaining our warehousing and distribution capabilities. This location helps to provide our customers with a storage solution located west of Toronto saving time and money for local shipments in the area. This facility is set up for additional storage giving us an additional 7,462 bins, this helps expand our reach and gives our clients the option to expand and reduce inventory levels as they please.

We also have the capability to create custom integration apps for online e-commerce platforms like our Shopify app, this allows orders to flow directly from Shopify to our WMS.
